Meet Fabric Braids: The Katy Perry-Approved Hair Trend for Fall
We LOVE the look of the newly discovered lattice braid, but we’ve gotta’ admit: It looks a little… daunting. We’re not entirely sure we’d be able to pull this one off without lots of practice (and patience!), at least not on our own.
Luckily, Katy Perry (who also singlehandedly brought back the Bump-It) and ANTM host Rita Ora have come up with the perfect way to spice up the otherwise everyday look with little to no extra effort: fabric braids.
Similar to the messy yarn bun we saw back in 2013, the chosen materials for this look may differ (Katy is immersed in rainbow yarn while Rita rocks ribbons instead), but the idea remains the same: Work a string-like material into your braid just as you would a regular strand of hair, tie a bow at the ends and voila! You’ve got yourself a whole new (and super affordable!) ‘do.
Just check out Katy Perry for proof, who wore the fun and easy style to Burning Man just last weekend.
Rita, in comparison, wore hers loose and centered on a stroll in NYC about a month ago, making the ribbons the immediate focal point of her coif.
Stop everything! Is hair ribbon about to take over the glitter hair trend? 💕✌️💁@RitaOra pic.twitter.com/zycFCpzBM0

We’ve got a feeling this is just the beginning and we can’t WAIT to see who jumps on this colorful bandwagon next!
