You Can Now Search Through All Your Embarrassing Facebook Statuses
Remember back in the day (like, college and high school) when you would constantly update your Facebook status every day (or was it every hour)? Now you can relive all those embarrassing moments and cringeworthy photos (and even rediscover recipes or DIYs) with the newest updates to Facebook Search.
Facebook’s VP of Search, Tom Stocky says, “You’ve told us the most important thing is being able to find posts you’ve seen before, and now you can. With a quick search, you can get back to a fun video from your graduation, a news article you’ve been meaning to read, or photos from your friend’s wedding last summer.” Right, right, and that very first status you wrote way back when… coupled with that pic you want to make sure is buried.
The new search feature adds to Facebook’s Graph Search, an algorithm that enables you to sift through your friend network with phrases like “My friends who live in San Francisco.” Taking on Google — we see you Facebook, we see you ;)
Designed specifically for the 703 million (of Facebook’s 864 million) daily active users on mobile, the update will roll out this week for Facebook users on iPhone and desktop. So get to searching for photos, tutorials and embarrassing photos, naturally ;)
