The Top 4 Fall Wedding Invitation Trends
From romantic vineyard receptions to whimsical woodland soirees, fall weddings are breathtakingly beautiful. Set the mood with an invitation that is both trendy yet non-traditional. For advice, we went to Wedding Paper Divas Style + Trend Expert Amber Harrison. Here, her top four fall invitation trends that go beyond the basic orange, yellow and red color scheme to deliver a look that’s totally unique.
1. Modern Jewel Tones: Deep jewel tones, including purple, navy, teal, emerald and marsala — Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year — are a perfect fit for fall, Amber tells us. “This look translates to stationery with modern fonts, clean lines and dramatic contrast,” she explains. “The vibrant hues and unique texture of geodes are also having a major moment, influencing everything from stationery design to tablescapes.”

2. Wreaths + Foliage: Think garden-themed events only work during the spring? Not according to Amber. “Couples can incorporate lush greenery and foliage into fall weddings with wreaths, magnolia leaves and other natural elements,” she says. Carry the look over to your stationery for a cohesive, creative vibe.” Jamie Chung’s recent bridal shower, hosted by Wedding Paper Divas and styled by celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss, boasted gorgeous wreath designs across table menus, placemats and even acrylic blocks with fun facts about the bride and groom,” Amber tells us. “Take this a step further and play with colors like burnt orange or deep green to really make it feel like fall.”

3. Nature- + Earth-Inspired Details: “Rustic continues to be big, but with a fresh twist for fall,” Amber says. Couples are seeking natural, earthy elements, with inspiration coming from wood, greenery and seasonal flowers. “We are seeing stationery in soft, neutral earth tones with copper foil, kraft paper touches and casual, loopy calligraphy,” she tells us. Snag the look for a wedding that delivers “a more relaxed vibe and can feature farm-to-table food, communal seating and wood- and branch-inspired centerpieces with strategic pops of crisp, earthy color.”

4. Glitz + Glamour: “Glamorous stationery will be all the rage this fall for the formal, luxurious bride,” Amber says. “And who doesn’t love a little, or a lot of, sparkle?” Let shimmer paper, foil and elegant calligraphy help set the stage for a luxe, lavish affair. “These luxurious weddings will see handcrafted cocktails, tablescapes with metallic touches, romantic lighting, more formal attire and lots of embellishments,” Amber tells us.
