Fall in Love With This DIY Beauty and the Beast Belle Costume
As October steadily approaches, it’s time to pull out that dusty costume box and brainstorm some fresh ideas for Halloween 2017. If you’re having trouble coming up with something that checks all the boxes, then we vote you go Disney princess. All. The. Way. Because what’s better than being comfortable and totally on point?! Beauty and the Beast‘s Belle is a winning candidate because she embodies the feminist ideal: She’s strong and independent, curious, smart, and totally non-superficial. Scroll down to get the how-to of Belle’s provincial town costume.
To put together Belle’s outfit, we bought a white Alexanders Costumes Puritan Apron ($16) and a blue Anni Coco Vintage Swing Dress ($24) with a white peasant top from Forever 21. Branded Content Manager, Ashley, brought her own Belle-like quality with black flats.
Belle’s Makeup: Opt for a bronzed smokey eye, subtle cat eyeliner, and a few coats of mascara. Follow with bronzer and highlighter paired with a soft pink blush on the apples of your cheeks. Finish with a soft pink lipstick.
Belle’s Hair: Pull into a low ponytail and wrap in a blue ribbon. Let the top of your hair be a little loose and curl the ends of the ponytail.
As Belle would say, “I want adventure in the great wide somewhere!”
