Every new TV season brings new shows with new stars — and sometimes old shows with new stars, too. It's not uncommon for series to introduce a few fresh faces between seasons, especially if they're also saying goodbye to some familiar names. Leaving Chicago Fire: Monica Raymund, who played main character Gabriela Dawson on seasons 1 through 6 of the NBC rescue drama, announced in May that she would not be returning for season 7. (Photo via Elizabeth Morris/NBC)

Joining Crazy Ex-Girlfriend:Pitch Perfect alum Skylar Astin is joining the fourth and final season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in a role that will be very familiar to fans of the musical dramedy. Astin is playing Greg Serrano, a character previously played by Santino Fontana. But don't worry — the recasting, or "reimagining," is part of the story. Leaving DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Keiynan Lonsdale announced in June that he would not be returning as a series regular on either Legends of Tomorrow or The Flash. He did say, though, that Wally West, AKA Kid Flash, might still pop up from time to time. (Photo via Robert Falconer/The CW)

Leaving Dynasty: Nathalie Kelley, who played Cristal Flores on the CW's soapy Dynasty reboot, shocked fans when she revealed in June that she would not be returning for season 2. It's unclear what that means for her character, but season 1 ended with — spoiler! — Claudia shooting Cristal and leaving her for dead in the lodge, which someone set on fire. Joining Dynasty: Nathalie Kelley may be leaving Dynasty, but Cristal — the "real" Cristal, that is — will be very present in season 2 of the CW drama. Telenovela star Ana Brenda Contreras is set to join the cast as Cristal 2.0, which suggests that Kelley's character may not have been who she said she was. Joining Grey's Anatomy: Kim Raver is set to rejoin the Grey's Anatomy crew as cardiothoracic surgeon Teddy Altman. After appearing as a series regular on the Shonda Rhimes medical drama for seasons 6 through 8, Raver returned in a guest-starring capacity in season 14.
