Every cat lady knows that her furry bb deserves the absolute best. The folks over at RINN design studio agree and have released a v. luxe cat tree for the ultimate lounging station. The only catch? It will set you back about $9K (or one million Yen). Is it worth it? We took a closer look.
The NEKO Modern Cat Tree has a natural marble base and a see-through spiral body made of natural wood poles that allow you to get glimpses of your cat when they’re inside. It’s designed, according to the website, to “offer a private space for the cat while serving as a decorative interior object that fits seamlessly with its surroundings.” It also promises to “maintain a furtive connection” between you and your cat for “a greater intimacy.”
There’s no denying this contraption is the cat’s meow. And no shag carpet here — just a cool, sleek design, top-of-the-line materials, and gorgeous craftsmanship. It’s a work of art that any cat owner would be proud to have their pet inhabit.
Besides the price, the tree is even more exclusive since no more than 22 can be sold each year. Masa Ryohara, CEO of RINN Inc., told Brit + Co that this is to ensure the quality and the best condition of wood per year in Japan. Just five of the cat trees have been sold to date, according to Ryohara.
So, is it worth it? It’s a lot of money to spend on any piece of furniture, let alone a cat tree. In the end, though, it comes down to one question (your ability to pay your rent or mortgage aside): Just how crazy are you for your cat?
