Sour is one of the most memorable albums in recent years. Not only did it shoot actress Olivia Rodrigo into mainstream stardom, but it also gave us some empowering songs for driving around with the windows down — "Deja Vu" and "Good 4 U" are too good *not* to scream at the top of your lungs.
The album cover is already iconic, and since we love the album so much, we decided to create this Olivia Rodrigo costume as a part of our pop culture costumes. It's eye-catching, recognizable, and since it uses items you already own, it's a super-easy costume to make.
This Halloween costume is a little bit edgy, a little bit y2k, and very easy. The cover of Olivia Rodrigo's Sour is pretty simple: It's Olivia in a plaid skirt and pink tank against a purple backdrop. The most defining detail of the cover is definitely all of the stickers that are spread across the top half of her face. Then you just need a pair of fall shoes, and you're good to go!
Another thing we love about this Olivia Rodrigo costume is that instead of featuring long sleeves or long pants, the tank top and shorter skirt work for anyone who lives somewhere that's still warm. If you do end up needing a few extra layers, a cardigan and sheer tights are cute and y2k-approved additions to the outfit. Finish the look with your favorite layered necklaces and rings, or keep the accessories simple to let the stickers stand out.
Rock a fall makeup look or keep your makeup simple to let the stickers really stand out, and keep your hair natural. You definitely don't have to keep stickers on your tongue for the whole night, but if you wanted to do it for one picture, we wouldn't blame you ;).
