Surprise! Felicity Jones Married Charles Guard in a Secret Wedding
Felicity Jones quietly made a major move this weekend. The 34-year-old British actress married boyfriend Charles Guard in a secret wedding ceremony on Saturday, June 30.
A rep for the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story star confirmed the news to ET. The nuptials took place at the stunning Sudeley Castle near Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, in England, and The Sun reported that actors Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hanks were among the A-listers in attendance.
Jones and Guard, a director known for his horror film The Uninvited, started dating in 2015 but have kept their relationship almost entirely out of the spotlight. Engagement rumors started circulating just over a year ago in May 2017, and while the 34-year-old actress was seen wearing a telling diamond ring during red carpet appearances shortly afterward, neither she nor Guard ever publicly confirmed the engagement.
The under-the-radar wedding shouldn’t come as a surprise to Jones’ fans and followers — the Theory of Everything star is notoriously private off-screen, choosing not to use any social media or speak much about her personal life. Previously, she explained her low-key lifestyle as being a part of her professional approach.
“When I go to the cinema, the less I know about the person, the more I can invest in them as characters,” she told Glamour for a November 2016 cover story.
She’s not the only celebrity to pull off a secret wedding ceremony of late: In February, Emily Ratajkowski surprised her fans with the announcement that she had just tied the knot with her actor and producer boyfriend Sebastian Bear-McClard.
Congrats to the happy couple!
