Fenty’s Hourglass Lip Paint Applicator Means You Don’t Need a Liner

Fenty’s Hourglass Lip Paint Applicator Means You Don’t Need a Liner

When I wear a bold lip color (basically, most days), I’m always sure to use a lip liner. Punchy pigments tend to be unforgiving in their application, meaning that every teeny-tiny mistake appears magnified, so a liner helps to keep my pout looking crisp and clean. When I first got my hands on the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color ($24), I was blown away by the vivid shade but apprehensive about applying it at the office, because I was without my trusted red lip liner.

Plot twist: I was wildly wrong — and instantly obsessed. Yes, the fire engine red color was as high-impact as I’d hoped, but the real magic was in the applicator. It has a unique hourglass shape that, somehow, managed to effortlessly pick up just the right amount of product for a thorough (but not thick or gooey) layer on my lips. Did I mention there was absolutely no need for lip liner? Shocker.

The texture of this liquid lipstick formula works with the shapely applicator wand to evenly envelop my lips in long-lasting matte color without drying out my pout. The combination of the easy-to-apply nature of this lippie, the lip liner-eliminating wand, and the unstoppable color made it easy to tell this would be an instant standout.

The real test, though, comes after the application. After gliding on the lipstick, I was happily surprised to see that the color kept its super sharp look on the outline of my lips despite never using a liner — score! Beyond that, the pigment wears beautifully (and on all skin tones) throughout the day and even stands up to anti-lipstick foods, like a cheeseburger. And tacos. All in all, I am “stunned” by the Stunna Lip Paint and can’t wait for more unstoppable shades to drop.
