This New Style App Is Like Having Cher’s Closet in Clueless
Remember when you first saw Clueless and Cher used that computerized closet to put together outfits? At the time, it was the stuff of dreams; an unattainable, Jetsons-style piece of movie magic. Sigh.
Well, it may have taken over two decades, but the electronic closet database is no longer a fantasy. The folks at Finery— a team that includes Brooklyn Decker and Whitney Casey — are making that dream a full. Blown. Reality. And you don’t have to be the daughter of a mega-rich Beverly Hills lawyer to get it. Here’s how it works.
Finery’s patent-pending technology syncs with your email to automatically upload any of your online purchases into a virtual wardrobe. You can also take photos of what you already own and upload them into your closet. Then, organize items by category, date purchased, or color, as well as create outfits and see how potential buys will fit with what you already have. We’re totally buggin.
But the app doesn’t only help you organize and style, it helps you shop! Through Finery’s toolbar extension button, you can add items from any site to your wardrobe or wish list. With everything you have (and want to have) in one place, Finery will send you sale alerts when your wish list items go on sale, not to mention alerts when the return window for an item is almost up. Uh, yes, please, and thank you.
Suffice it to say, we’re sold. Who says dreams don’t come true? As if.
