We love our pets. So much so that we’d be willing to pay extra to fly first class with ’em. That’s not just me, right?
Those not ideal social settings for Fido could soon be changing. They are at an Indianapolis-based brewery at least. High paws for that!
Brewery Flat12 Bierwerks recently debuted the Flat12 Paws Dog Brew, a non-alcoholic, canine-safe happy hour drink. Produced in collaboration with Flat12’s smokehouse neighbor Smoking Goose, the Dog Brew is similar to a stock as it includes sweet wort (the liquid extracted from the mashing process), potatoes, carrots, brewer’s yeast, pumpkin seed flour and meat bones. Sound good enough to drink yourself? Good news, humans and even cats are totally allowed to imbibe in the brew too.
Currently the dog beer is only available at the Indiana-based taproom priced at $1/bowl (aka the best HH price we’ve ever seen) where proceeds will go back to local pet shelters. If you are looking for an ale to share with your pup right now there are others that are accessible, like Dawg Grog and Bowser Beer.
Sean O’Connor of Flat12 Bierwerks promises your dog will be missing out if they went with an alternate beer though. He told The Huffington Post Flat12 Dog Brew is “actually healthy for them [dogs].” Now fingers crossed these bowls are a hit and get mass-produced for dogs (and humans/cats) to enjoy alongside their owners at happy hours nationwide soon.
