These Might Be the Most Universally Flattering Swimsuits Ever
Shopping for new swimwear can be wildly fun as you imagine yourself sunning at the beach in your Finding Dory swimwear or lounging by the pool in something super stylish and totally inclusive. It can also be equally as frustrating as you try to find a style that suits you and flatters both your bod and your personal tastes. Amy Romanowsky, J.Crew’s swimwear designer, wants to help turn the experience into pure bathing suit bliss. She gave PopSugar the deets on the pieces that have been instant sensations — with good reason. Check out the items below that flatter every form.
J.Crew’s Most Flattering Bikini: Amy explains that the sliding halter has a little more coverage than a string top piece and slightly wider ties, “but you can still move the cup around for a fit that’s as covered or uncovered as you want it to be.” For the bottom, something with short side seams and a rise that is “not too high or too low generally looks amazing on everyone.” Check out the pic to scope out the J.Crew Sliding Halter Bikini Top ($44) and Surf Bikini Bottom ($40).
J.Crew’s Most Flattering One-Piece: This one comes in at a tie with the Ruched Bandeau Tank ($98) and the Halter Wrap One-Piece Tank ($98) both offering a stylish option for the summer. “Every woman in my family, in all different ages, has the ruched bandeau tank,” Amy claims, saying that it’s both easy to wear and totally comfy.
The Most Stylish Coverup: If you’d like a little more coverage, Amy says to try a caftan. Long and in a super lightweight cotton with a low neck line or buttons for options, J.Crew’s Gingham Tunic ($90) can currently be pre-ordered and will show up just in time for that trip to the waterside.
The Sell-Out Suit: “All of our new one piece suits are going fast this season, and I think it’s an indication that one piece suits are not just for more coverage; they’re a really stylish and cool alternative to a bikini.” Options are always awesome, especially when they’re also this slick. With a wide range of one-piece suits ranging from $98 to $125, including stripes and solids, cut-outs and zip-ups, it’s no wonder these suits are sizzling with summer-seeking shoppers.
