I’ll take any opportunity to spend some time at my local flower shop, and I’m looking forward to Mother’s Day for exactly that reason! Picking out fresh blooms is so much fun, especially since I know my mom will love getting them as much as I love giving them. You can add even more flowers to Mother’s Day with these DIY mini floral brooches — they’re so simple to make *and* they’ll last longer than a few days. If you’re going to a Mother’s Day brunch, craft a handful and give one to each of the mothers attending!
Materials and Tools:
- thimbles
- brooch backings
- thin ribbon or cord
- crepe paper
- scissors
- hot glue gun
- mini faux flowers and leaves
Instructions:
- Trim the stems of your mini faux flowers so that they sit nicely in a thimble.
- Apply a little bit of hot glue into the inside of the thimble, and attach the stems of the faux flowers to make a mini arrangement.
- Cut green crepe paper into leaf shapes and glue into the thimbles as well, around the flowers.
- Cut a piece of thin ribbon or string and tie into a little bow around the top of the thimble. Secure in place with a dab of hot glue on the back if needed.
- Hot glue the brooch backings onto the back of the thimbles.
