8 Canned Wines You Should Be Sipping Right Now

It seems like canned beverages are everywhere lately, from cold brews and spiked seltzers to mixed cocktails, kombucha, and our favorite, wine. Yet the canned varietals of red, white, and rosé have received a serious quality upgrade as of late. You can find legitimately good wines in travel-friendly (read: mess-free) containers that allow you to imbibe for less. (Those glass bottles tack on extra dollars you don’t need to pay for!) Allow us to introduce you to our current favorites.

The Drop Wine

The Drop is kind of a big deal and for good reason — they have three California wines (a crisp rosé, a dry and light sauvignon blanc, and a smooth red blend) that are meant to be served chilled. They’re the first to launch a resealable lid on their cans, which they boast in a press release is “safer than glass, easier to recycle, and more stable than a corked bottle.” Cheers to that!

RAMONA Wine Spritzers

When a James Beard-nominated master sommelier (and Momofuku alum) ventures off to make a canned wine, you pay attention. Jordan Salcito sources premium Sicilian Zibibbo grapes and ruby red grapefruit and the results create the slightly effervescent RAMONA Paloma. Also noteworthy? This buzzy brand can be found at your local Whole Foods in the refrigerated wine section.

Eufloria Aromatic Rosé

Fun fact about this Washington state canned wine: Each 12-ounce can holds half of a bottle of wine, and yet retails for only $6. (Talk about affordability.) Eufloria’s premise is that multi-varietal wines are often more complete than single-varietal wines, and the unique blending process merges aromatics with flavors of sweetness and acidity for a one-of-a-kind wine.

VINNY

VINNY, the latest wine project from Thomas Pastuszak (the wine director at NoMad), draws its inspiration from the acclaimed Finger Lakes wine region. The canned bubbly celebrates everything New York has to offer and hits all the right notes whether you’re camping, tailgating, or simply cracking one open on the porch.

Tinto Amorio

Inspired by the authentic Spanish winecocktail tinto de verano, this low-calorie drink contains sparkling water, red and white wine, grape and lemon juice concentrates, and cane sugar. While you get a buzz on, feel good that a percentage of their proceeds goes toward the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County to help fight hunger.

Messina Hof Beau

Seventh-generation winemakers Paul and Karen Bonarrigo know a thing or two about what it takes to produce tasty wine intended for sweltering weather — after all, they established the fourth Texan winery in 1977 and with more than 90 labels, remain the largest producer of Texas wines. (They’ve won 1200 awards too.) Their latest sweet red has flavors of blackberries and wildflowers and will hit the spot on those 100+ degree days.
