When it comes to staple groceries to stock up on, Antoni Porowski, one of the fab five from Netflix's Queer Eye reboot, knows what's up. The show's food and wine expert partnered with Whole Foods Market, giving us a chance to raid his fridge to find out just what's inside (hint: Most items revolve around summer grilling). Keep scrolling to find out Porowski's must-have summer foods.
Pre-Made Kabobs ($8-$10 / Pound): Porowski's into the pre-made kebabs. He says, "[Grill them] for a quick weeknight meal or for entertaining. Once you’ve got them, there’s really no excuse to not cook!"
Stone Fruit ($1-$2): When it comes to fruits, the Montreal-born foodie reaches for what's in season. "You can slice them up and place them on the grill, or eat them fresh," he says.
Chameleon Cold-Brew ($4): Porowski is just like us and needs to get his buzz on. "I am a cold brew and iced coffee freak," he says. "I can never have enough."
Ground Beef ($7-$11 / Pound): Antoni's all about beef burgers, especially when cooking for a crowd. If you're worried about seasoning the meat yourself, he's a huge fan of the pre-seasoned burgers in the butcher department like pepper-crusted and blue cheese.
Buf Mozzarella di Bufalina Cheese ($10): "I love this [mozzarella], because you can just tear it away, and throw it in a salad," he says.
Pool Boy Rosé ($14): A rosé rec is much appreciated around here. The name and label alone are convo starters, but Porowski says the reason it tastes good too is, "It’s an actual French rosé, and [the French] do it best."
Marinated Olives ($12/pound): When it comes to olives, Porowski hits the bar, the olive bar. "I especially like pitted green olives with lemon and garlic and Kalamata olives," he shares.
Lacinato Kale ($3): Did you know you could grill kale? Neither did we until Porowski suggested it. "You can also cut it up really small, and use it in a salad," he shares.
365 Everyday Value Korean Style Gochujang Hot Sauce ($5): "I put this gochujang-flavored condiment in practically everything," Porowski jokes. "Whip it up with some mayo. Slather it on a burger, and you get something creamy with extra kick."
Wild Salmon ($33 / Pound): "Salmon on the grill is a summer staple," Porowski claims. Just be sure to grill them on a non-stick grill pan or cedar plank so the delicate fish doesn't stick on the grill.
