Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the Friends Musical
Brace yourself, Friends fans — in homage to the show’s foray into music (remember that episode Where They Sing?), Chicago’s MCL Chicago Theatre is bringing a 90-minute musical parody of the same name to the stage. While it won’t feature any members of the actual cast (the musical is unauthorized, after all) or the ditties they hum above (the show has an all-original score), enthusiasts seem to love it thus far, getting two-thumbs up at an early screening during the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival. First a reunion, and now this? Our hearts can’t even take it.
The show will be 90 minutes of non-stop fun — did we mention it’s a BYOB theater and optional drinking games will be included in your Playbill?— with a live band and choreographed moves to accompany the tunes. Judging from their hilarious 15-second table read video, it’s going to be an absolute riot. Also making appearances? Janice, Marcel the Monkey and, of course, Smelly Cat!
Tickets are on sale now for $20 a pop, and the show will run from June 10 to July 29. So if you happen to be in Chicago, be sure to check it out!
