Gabrielle Union’s 10 Things I Hate About You Throwback Pic Is All About That ’90s Nostalgia
10 Things I Hate About You will always and forever remain one of our fave ‘90s teen movies. The flick, featuring a young Heath Ledger, badass Julia Stiles, and an adorable Joseph Gordon-Levitt, had fun, romance, and an awesome soundtrack that we’d still love to listen to today. And while we look back on the movie with our own particular fondness, Gabrielle Union, who had a supporting part in the film, just shared a throwback pic of the cast that’s all about that ‘90s nostalgia.
“Just a bunch of kids having the time of our lives up in Tacoma/Seattle,” Union captioned the Instagram photo that shows herself and her costars Ledger, Stiles, Gordon-Levitt, David Krumholtz, Andrew Keegan, and Larisa Oleynik.
With the group posing in front of the school where they filmed, the pic is an adorable snippet of the past that totally makes us smile (not to mention want to run off and watch the movie ASAP).
But what makes the pic even more special is that the now-44-year-old actress — who’s since appeared in her fair share of movies and shows (including Bring It On, Friends, and Being Mary Jane) — revealed that 10 Things I Hate About You was her first Hollywood film. “1st movie & an experience that I’ll never forget,” she wrote, adding, “The best/coolest/most generous group of people to share my 1st film experience. What a time man.”
She also paid tribute to the cast member who’s no longer with us, writing, “❤ and eternal light #RIPHeath.” Indeed.
She ended the note with the absolutely perfect hashtags, “#10thingsihateaboutyou” and “#CanYouEverJustBeWhelmed.” Answer: “I think you can in Europe.”
