Take Your Lip Game to a New Level With This High-Impact Effect
From one-and-done lip colors to the perfect shade for your skin tone, we are kinda obsessed with trend-right lippies. There’s just something about lip art that makes our beauty-loving hearts skip a beat. For the past few seasons, makeup artists all over Instagram have been creating show-stopping mini masterpieces with lip art that showcase one-of-a-kind designs (remember those epic oil slick lips?). So when Insta-superstar Johannah Adams debuted crystal lip art that looks like our favorite home decor accent, we couldn’t help but ugly cry with excitement. Thanks to her (and a few other badass Instagrammers), we bring you geode lips: out-of-this-world lip art that recreates geode stones, like agate and druzy, in all their iridescent glory. See how these makeup mavens have been making their lips shine below.
1. Rose Quartz: Sure, these lips aren’t exactly perfect for puckering up, but who cares when you’re rocking a look that’s this ah-mazing? Layer iridescent, clear and pastel pink paillettes over a soft shade of gloss if you want to replicate a rose quartz geode like the one above.

2. Amethyst Geode: From the impeccably drawn charcoal liner to the dramatic ombre effect, this look is in a league of its own. With a suede lip liner and chunky purple glitter, you can easily create this bold AF pout at home or for Halloween.

3. Purple Druzy: This purple druzy lip look uses a mix of clear gloss, richly pigmented lip stain and clear crystals to turn an ombre lip into a geode masterpiece. Use a fine brush to emulate the geode’s design and minimal glitter pieces to help reflect light all night long.
4. Pink Crystal: This look is a must when you’re opting for an out-of-this-world effect that’s impossible to ignore. The artist combines gloss, color and crystals into one concoction that’s then liberally spread over the lips. Once the formula is set, she uses heavy gold gloss to line the lip and then a thick clear gloss to set it. We think we’re in love.
