We know, we know. It’s still “technically” Thanksgiving season, not Christmas season. But given the fact that Starbucks is selling peppermint mochas and Target has rows and rows of holiday decor on display, we’re joining in on the fun.
Last week, we rounded up 20 inventive ideas for holiday lights and yesterday, we added on with 50 holiday gifts that can be made for $10 or less. Today, we’re taking a sillier approach by prepping you for the holidays by way of a “gif guide” featuring all of the most classic sights, sounds and most epic movies of the season. Okay fine, and we thought “holiday gif guide” was a really funny pun. Take a scroll down the page and get pumped for the official start of the holidays! (Note: we credited where we could.)
First off, perhaps one of the most classic scenes of Tim the Toolman Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause.
Puss ‘N Boots as Santa Claus!? Could it be? Holy frijoles…
Anyone who doesn’t love A Charlie Brown Christmas has no soul. Just sayin’.
Christmas lights. A lot of color. It’s simple, but inspires us to put up some lights, ASAP.
Oh, Buddy. We heart you. (Little known fact: Elf has grossed over $200M since it’s debut in 2003).
Dudes, please note that if you ever replicate this scene from Love Actually for your girlfriend or wife, you will most certainly score serious points. That’s all.
Miracle on 34th Street. Best Christmas movie of all time? Discuss.
No important meaning, but it’s probably the prettiest gif of snow on the Internet and queues up I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas in our heads immediately.
The holidays = the start of ski season. Who else is counting down the days?!
Oh you know, just Santa doing the Macarena. Typical.
Mariah Carey AND Justin Bieber? All I Want for Christmas is You has never had a better double meaning.
Chevy Chase is so epic as Clark Griswold in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. This was certainly one of the most quotable lines from the whole movie.
A safety reminder this holiday season: don’t wrap yourself in lights and stick your finger in a socket. The more you know.
Perhaps one of the COOLEST holiday light displays ever.
“Frosty the Snowman, was a jolly happy soul…” Man, when do we get to start Christmas caroling?!
Most. Evil. Smile. Ever. No matter how old you are, you should always fear the Grinch.
The most memorable scene from one of the most memorable holiday films, A Christmas Story.
Kevin can never catch a break.
Okay, one more because this movie is so amazing. Tell us you didn’t die laughing when Harry’s head got burned with a blow torch. Remember when he dug his head into the snow afterwards!?
And finally, Jimmy Fallon impersonating the most classic scene of Home Alone. Ahhhhh!
