A Gilmore Girls Fan Festival Is Happening and We Want to Go
We may have a few more months to wait for the Gilmore Girls official return, but in the meantime, there are plenty of ways to keep our hardcore fandom satisfied. Gilmore Girls cookbooks will help you prep meals just like Luke, Stars Hollow-scented candles will fill our homes with that familiar atmosphere and even monthly Gilmore Girls subscription boxes will deliver an assortment of GG awesomeness to fans. But now, it gets even better, because there’s a Gilmore Girls fan festival happening to bring all GG peeps together.
“Sixteen years ago we all fell in love with Stars Hollow,” the website begins, then lures us right in with, “Here’s your chance to experience it. We’re bringing the original Hollow to life…” OMG yes! Happening October 21 to 23 in Washington Depot, Connecticut (the IRL Stars Hollow), this is worth the trip for anyone who doesn’t happen to be in the neighborhood. Vendors will be getting fans into the Stars Hollow vibe while they also enjoy activities including screenings, cocktail hour, photo opps, a knit-a-thon and Gilmore Girls trivia, just to mention a few.
Even some cast members will be joining the fun, including Jackson Douglas (Jackson), Rini Bell (Lulu), Aris Alvarado (Caesar), Biff Yeager (Tom), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Yanic Truesdale (Michel), Vanessa Marano (April) and Ted Rooney (Morey). Perhaps Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel and/or Scott Patterson will make surprise visits. *fingers crossed*
From the sound of it, this festival should definitely hold us over until Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life hits Netflix on November 25, though with ticket prices being $175 for general admission and VIP access at $250, this isn’t exactly a cheap weekend.
“Gilmore Girls Fan Fest. A festival started by fans, for fans. We’re just as excited as you.” Wanna bet?!
