Order These Girl Scout Cookies If You’re Vegan, Gluten-Free, or Dairy-Free
The words “diet-friendly” may not come to mind when you think of nostalgic Girl Scout cookies. Luckily, the longstanding brand has a sweet for just about every dietary need. Here’s a full list of Girl Scout cookies that meet vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, and egg-free requirements, so you can get your cookie fix regardless of your diet. Currently, all 12 Girl Scout cookies contain soy, but who knows? In a year’s time, anything could change.
Vegan and dairy-free
Vegans can pick from a surprisingly wide range of Girl Scout cookies. Pepperminty, chocolate-enrobed Thin Mints are made with completely vegan ingredients. In addition, Thanks-A-Lots (fudge-bottomed shortbread cookies embossed with “thank you” in multiple languages) and the newer Girl Scout S’mores (square graham cracker cookies with “crème” icing and dairy-free chocolate) are also free of animal products. Even decadent Peanut Butter Patties (not to be confused with Tagalongs, which are made with milk) are fair game. Vegans with a hankering for citrus can also enjoy Lemonades (lemon-iced shortbread cookies).
Gluten-Free
GF cookie lovers can opt for two of Girl Scouts’ newer varieties: Caramel Chocolate Chip (chewy cookie made with sticky caramel, semisweet chocolate chips, and a touch of sea salt) or Toffee-tastic (crispier, buttery cookie flecked with golden bits of toffee).
Egg-free
Great news for those who don’t or can’t eat eggs: all Girl-Scout cookies except for Caramel Chocolate Chip come together with egg-free dough.
