One of my favorite parts of B+C Halloween is being able to dress up my friends and give them a chance to be a model for the day. This week I brought in my roommate Sabrina and her girlfriend Kati to channel their inner animals and TV characters for couples costumes. Follow along to see how to achieve these looks.
Game of Thrones: Daenerys and Yara
Don’t hate me, but I actually don’t watch Game of Thrones. I’ve only seen one episode and it was all because of Sabrina! When I first moved in she suggested we all watch an episode for roommate bonding time — let’s just say it wasn’t for me. From what I understand, these two characters have the secret hots for each other and tension is a rising ;)
To create Yara’s costume, you will need a black turtleneck, dark jeans, black gloves and a black cloak. Purchase a chest piece (we bought ours from Amazon) and spray paint it with granite spray paint to give it a medieval feel. Purchase a long brown wig and use gel to give it a wet/distressed look. Makeup is very minimal but the paler the better.

These lion and lion tamer costumes were inspired by Sabrina’s crazy curls. (Curls I would DIE to have!) This couples costume is a breeze to put together — you might actually have a lot of the pieces in your closet.
The base of the lion tamer costume is khaki pants, a white ruffled shirt, black boots and a red blazer. We bought our blazer off of Amazon at added finishing touches with yellow ribbon and white fringe. Complete the look with a black top hat, black bow tie and scratches over your eye with fake blood.

This lion costume cost about $12 — no joke. We found the tan jumpsuit at a thrift store for $5 and then the rest was just a half of yard of brown fur. Hot glue to create boot covers, wrist cuffs, a tail and ears. Top off the look with crazy cat eyes and a black nose.
And if you can’t find your lion whip, just use a belt ;)
This couple’s costume is one that I have been dying to DIY — who doesn’t love Cruella and her 100 Dalmatians? Grab your favorite black dress and old white clothes that you don’t need anymore to create this couple’s costume.
Cruella and Dalmatian
Head to a thrift store or H&M to find a white top and white jeans for the base of this dog costume. Use black fabric paint to create different sized spots all over the piece. Use ribbon or felt to create a dog collar and finish off the costume with dog ears and a tail. For makeup, use black and white face paint to create a black eye, extra spots and a black nose.
Cruella’s costume is pretty simple — black dress, long red gloves and a Cruella wig. A fur coat is a must but if you can’t find one, stick with a piece of fur fabric. Top off the costume with a long cigarette holder, red lips and an evil laugh.
