This Glittery Black and White Popcorn Appetizer Deserves an Oscar Nom (Nom-Nom!)
Now that the Golden Globes are behind us, our eyes have been set on Hollywood’s biggest night: the Oscars. From A-list celebrities to jaw-dropping speeches, we expect nothing less from this cinematic ceremony. So if you’re just as pumped as we are (duh, of course you are), then you’re probably already planning your Oscar party as we speak. But before you put the decorations up and drink your Oscar-worthy cocktail, there’s one food item your party can’t live without: popcorn. But this popcorn isn’t your average popcorn blend. We decided to shake things up by adding melted dark chocolate (oooh!) and star-shaped edible popcorn (ahhhh!). Want to wow your guests at your Oscar party? Use this fun and easy recipe below.
Ingredients:
- 1 popcorn bag
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate
- 2 teaspoons edible star-shaped glitter
Instructions:
1. Place 1/4 cup of dark chocolate in a heat-protectant bowl and microwave for 30 seconds or melt the chocolate over a double boiler until it melts.
2. During that time, place the popcorn in the microwave and follow the instructions to pop the whole bag of popcorn.
3. Rip a large piece of wax paper and completely cover a cookie sheet.
4. Evenly spread the popcorn over the cookie sheet so no individual popcorn is on top of each other.
5. Carefully dip a fork into the melted chocolate and drizzle it in a diagonal motion over the popcorn. You want to try to cover 75-85 percent of the cookie sheet.
6. Before the chocolate cools, sprinkled the edible glitter over the popcorn so it can stick to the chocolate.
7. Let the chocolate harden and serve immediately.
