Watch Little Girls Reenact the Best #GirlBoss Moments of 2015
Last time we saw STEM toymaker GoldieBlox, they were introducing the butt-kicking, tech-loving action figure doll Ruby Rails to the world. They’re back again with a video project titled “Fast-Forward Girls 2015” and their message to little girls is as clear as ever: the world is full of #girlbosses and the future belongs to you. Frankly, as a full grown adult, the message is still incredibly inspiring.
The video documents the notorious RBG (Ruth Bader Ginsburg) helping sign marriage equality into law, Misty Copeland getting named the first African-American principal ballerina of the American Ballet Theatre, Hilary Clinton announcing her candidacy for presidency and more — adorably reenacted by pint sized YouTubers like Audrey of RadioJHAudrey and Jillian of EvanTubeHD.
It even shows the women engineers like Isis Anchalee who started the #ILookLikeAnEngineer campaign. And the whole video features a cover of Fifth Harmony’s ” Worth It” sung by none other than the talented Sophia Grace of Ellen fame. Whew, looking back, this has been a seriously woman empowering year.
On their blog, GoldieBlox explains, “We’re celebrating today’s role models and the generation of girls they’ve inspired – the girls who have broken the mold, blazed a trail, and made it happen. These ten women in politics, entertainment, sport, and STEM are the leading ladies that we all hope to grow up to be, proving that anything is possible.”
You hear that, kids? You’re worth it.
