This Cool New Basics Brand Is like Everlane but Cheaper
When we’re in need of ultra luxe-looking basics, Everlane is typically our go-to brand. Full of sleek, minimal pieces, the brand’s selection is never one to let us down — unless that bag we really wanted is suddenly accompanied by a dreaded waitlist tag. And while Everlane’s merchandise offers a big bang for your buck considering the quality, we won’t pretend it’s always super affordable. If you’re looking for a basics brand that looks just as good but is a little bit easier on your wallet, allow us to introduce you to Grana.
The brand, which launched in April of 2014, offers things like cashmere sweaters for under $100, quality denim for $50 and timeless silk tops for $40. Grana’s website explains that the idea to launch the brand sparked when the founder came across the superior quality of Peruvian Pima cotton and grew annoyed by the low quality and high mark-ups in the fashion industry. Following a similar set-up to Everlane, they keep their prices low by selling directly to consumers.
And while Everlane is one brand that has definitely nailed the monochromatic wardrobe, Grana comes at us with welcome pops of color (like this silk tank dress that comes in 10 different hues), proving once and for all that basics don’t have to be black or white.
