This Grease Group Halloween Costume Is Electrifying
Confession time — while planning for this group Grease costume, I realized that I had never watched the whole movie all the way through. Take a deep breath — it wasn’t that I hadn’t seen the movie, it was that I probably only watched the dancing scenes (typical) or I was just too young to truly appreciate the characters’ banter. So, to prepare for the big photo shoot, my friend Mike (who I brought in from NJ to model Danny Zuko) and I watched the movie twice — thanks, Netflix! Follow along to learn how to piece this group costume together for Halloween this year.
” Tell me more, tell me more — but you don’t gotta brag. Tell me more, tell me more — ’cause he sounds like a drag.”
Grab your best hand-jive dance partner and pair up to rock Sandy and Danny this Halloween. These looks are really easy to create and can probably be done with pieces from your own closet!
Sandy has a few looks in the film, but we decided to dress Lexy up as bad girl Sandy. Pair leather leggings or pants with an off-the-shoulder black top and a thick black belt. Red shoes are a must. Take the outfit even further with big gold hoops and sparkly red nails.
Bad boy Danny Zuko has a pretty simple outfit: white tee tucked into black jeans and a killer leather jacket. Grease back your hair and grow out your side burns to really fit the part.
The Pink Ladies are my absolute favorite :) We bought these jackets off of Amazon for $25 and paired them with a white blouse and a skirt that hits at the knees. Take the outfit further with an ascot and cat eye glasses.
The Thunderbirds outfit is extremely simple. Black jeans, white tee and a pair of black sneakers. Throw on a leather jacket to take it to the next level — just don’t outdo Danny Zuko ;)
Take that Rizzo — look at me; I’m Sandra Dee.
“Why, this car is auto-matic. It’s system-matic. Its hyyyyydro-matic. Why, it’s greased lightning!”
“Tell me about it, stud.”
Yes, you will have to practice the hand jive before hitting the Halloween parties.
