Grey’s Anatomy recently revealed that actress Kim Raver would be returning to the show to reprise her role as Dr. Teddy Altman, and while fans rejoiced, their happiness was short-lived. A preview for an upcoming episode appears to show another fan favorite, Dr. Miranda Bailey, at risk of dying, which has sent fans into full freakout mode on social media.
In the teaser, Dr. Bailey is seen in the beginning stages of what she thinks is a heart attack. She’s composed and alert at first — she even says, “I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let a blocked artery take me down” — but the clip soon flashes to an oxygen mask being put on her face and the sound of a flatlining heart monitor as those around her react in panic. Toward the end of the teaser, we see her husband, Ben Warren, sprinting down a street, presumably to be by her side.
The reaction from viewers was, in short: No. Absolutely not. Fans do not want to see Dr. Bailey die, and they did not hold back from scolding the show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, for toying with their emotions. The most common response was that if the show actually kills off Chandra Wilson’s beloved character, they’re done with it. Or, more accurately, “DOOOOONEE.”

We already know that Bailey’s husband Ben (played by Jason George) is moving over to the newly titled firefighter spinoff, Station 19, so could this be a sign that they’re wrapping up the couple’s story line before the show premieres on March 22? It’s going to be a tense week while we wait to find out.
