‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Is Bringing Back Kim Raver As Dr. Teddy Altman
A lot of exciting news has been coming from the world of Grey’s Anatomy in recent weeks, much to the delight of loyal fans of the long-running show. The latest? Kim Raver, AKA Dr. Teddy Altman, is returning to Grey Sloan Memorial for more episodes in the second half of this season.
The actress, who has also appeared on hit shows including 24 and Third Watch, has been a part of the Grey’s family since way back in 2009, but mostly from a distance since 2012. She returned for three episodes earlier this season, but given the news that she had taken on a recurring role on ABC’s Designated Survivor (which premieres March 7), we didn’t have high hopes about her future as Dr. Altman.
However, TVLine now reports that Raver is set to come back for a multi-episode arc.
This is amazing news, not just for fans of Grey’s but also for the actress herself. Back in November, when TVLine asked Raver about the possibility of reviving her Grey’s role regularly or more permanently, she admitted that she would “100 percent” jump at the chance to play the doctor again.
“I love being part of this company,” she said. “I love working with [executive producer and head writer] Shonda Rhimes. I love working with the cast. Literally for me it’s definitely home. I feel fortunate enough to be able to go off and join other companies, but every time I come back to Grey’s, it’s really like being home.”
Though we don’t know exactly when Raver will be making her comeback, you can watch for her return when Grey’s Anatomy airs on ABC every Thursday at 8pm ET.
