This Ham & Cheese Rolled-Up Sandwich Will Bring Out Your Inner Kid
Lunch is probably the most overlooked meal of the day. Because this afternoon feast isn’t usually something we dream about (unless it involves pancake recipes or mimosas, in which case, then we’re just talking about brunch), it tends to fall behind and sometimes even be forgotten. In between trying to finish work or going to school, it can be hard to create make-ahead lunches, because frankly, we’re too busy. But there’s a way to make lunch at home without spending an hour or so cooking it. Welcome ham and cheese rolls. They only take about 30 minutes to make, and all you have to do is put them in the oven and fuhgeddaboudit. Save those almonds for your commute: These ham and cheese rolls are perfect for your adult lunchbox.
Ingredients:
— tube crescent dough sheet
— 12 slices cheddar cheese
— 1/2 pound ham
— 1/2 Tablespoon butter
— 1 Tablespoon spicy yellow mustard
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Roll out your crescent roll onto a flat surface.
3. Place cheese and ham on top of crescent roll.
4. Start on the long side, tightly roll the dough up and cut into 12 or 13 pieces.
5. Grease your baking dish (or line it with aluminum foil), and place each ham and cheese roll into the dish.
6. In a saucepan, combine butter and spicy mustard until the ingredients are combined. Pour into a dish and put it to the side.
7. Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and dough is browned.
