Hanson Called Justin Bieber’s Music “Chlamydia of the Ear” and It Didn’t End There
We all have different tastes in music. While some might be freaking out over Shania Twain’s new album (which came from a surprisingly emotional place) and others may be more about Katy Perry’s new (Taylor Swift dissing?) track with Calvin Harris, we’re just thrilled that there are so many tunes to choose from. Hanson, for the record, doesn’t feel the same way. In fact, they feel so strongly about Justin Bieber’s music that they’ve just compared it to an STI.
“I prefer not to get any venereal diseases,” Zac Hanson explained during an interview with Australia’s Amos, Cat & Angus radio show. And while fans might have been wondering why he was suddenly talking about sexual health, the middle Hanson brother revealed he was in fact referring to something very different, continuing by saying, “so whenever Justin Bieber[‘s music] gets sort of near me or near my ears… it’s just ear infections, they’re terrible.” Oh. Ouch.
His older brother Isaac apparently agrees (and isn’t any less inclined to throw shade at another performer), calling Bieber’s music “Chlamydia of the ear,” before adding a summed-up opinion of the other musician’s style by stating, “It sucks.” Yowza. Tell us what you really think.
While Hanson marks the 20th anniversary of their (in)famous “MMMbop” with a world tour that had them setting off on June 1, we’re gonna go ahead and bet that Bieber won’t be catching any of the shows. Too bad. He would’ve made one heck of a surprise guest!
