Hanson’s New Christmas Video Is Here to Officially Kickstart the Holidays
With Hallmark already airing its 2017 holiday movie lineup and shopping deals starting to pop up all over, we’re ready to start decking the halls a little early. If you’re getting a head start on your holiday party playlist, may we suggest this festive new rocker from ’90s teen boy band Hanson.
The lyric video for “Finally It’s Christmas” premiered today on Perez Hilton, and it’s just the thing to kickstart the holidays. The song is from the group’s just-released album of the same name, which they teased just over a year ago. The song’s upbeat, feel-good guitars and chiming bells are totally getting us into the spirit, and the lyric video, featuring a rolling rink full of Santa and Mrs. Clauses, is as vibrant as the season. (There’s an official music video still to come!)
It’s been 20 years (!) since the “MMMBop” brothers released Snowed In, and on the new album they’ve updated their holiday music roster with covers of modern classics like Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” and Paul McCartney’s “A Wonderful Christmas Time,” as well as four new originals. The album even features the band members’ kids — yes, your teen heartthrobs now have 12 children between them! — throughout.
Recently, a British psychologist suggested that being forced to hear too much Christmas music can actually be bad for some people’s mental health. But our habit of listening to the stuff from the day after Halloween until New Year’s is fully voluntary — so we’re in the clear to play the Hanson album until we wear it out.
