This Magical ‘Harry Potter’ River Cruise Is Your Next Dream Vacation
The fascination with Harry Potter certainly didn’t end when the beloved books and magical movies did. From an exclusive exhibit to Starbucks’ secret Frappuccino, there are still plenty of ways to continue to enchant your muggle life. And that now includes a Harry Potter river cruise, which is surely any fan’s dream vacation.
This summer (August 5 to 11 and August 19 to 25), you and a group of your wizard-loving best friends can board a boat that will take you on a one-of-a-kind ride down England’s River Thames.
Barge Lady Cruises founder Stephanie Sak talked to Good Morning America about the memory-making adventure, saying, “The itinerary is my baby and it has been a professional highlight to see it come to fruition.” According to ABC, that itinerary will include stops at Virginia water, where Harry first encountered Buckbeak in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Picket Post Close, the IRL 4 Privet Drive, where the title character spent much of his childhood with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia Dursley, and cousin Dudley.
Along with visiting “actual filming sites at Oxford,” you and your fellow travelers will also get “a tour of the Harry Potter exhibit in London, and feast on Hogwarts-inspired cuisine while onboard.” Sounds fun (and delicious)!
However, the experience won’t come cheap. For eight guests, it will cost you a cool $34,000. Let’s hope you have access to a full Gringotts bank vault.
