Here Are the 3 New Characters Joining Stranger Things Season 2
Stranger Things already has us seriously stoked for season two of the spooky series, and we have no doubt that we’ll be even more excited as news continues to be released about what we can look forward to (and be freaked out by) next. One thing we do know is that three new characters will be joining the Stranger Things world, and we finally have the deets on who they are.
Next year will bring us nine new episodes that pick up a full year after the first season in the fall of 1984, when the residents think things have calmed, but are very wrong. Series executive producer Shawn Levy told The Hollywood Reporter that in these episodes, which creators saw more as a sequel as opposed to a second season, “There’s definitely a handful of really compelling new characters this season, but absolutely servicing the core group first and foremost. Like the show itself, it’s multigenerational new characters and really, really intriguing ones.”
Three of the new characters are Max and Roman, who will now be series regulars, as well as Billy, who is listed as a potential series regular. Iiiiinteresting.
Max will be a 13-year-old skateboarding girl who exudes confidence despite not quite fitting in with the other girls in the area. She has a “complicated” history with her stepbrother, Billy, an overconfident 17-year-old. With rumors that Billy killed someone at his former school, his violent and unpredictable nature is sure to get him into some serious situations.
Roman is the character that’s a little trickier to pin down. Described right now as an adult male or female of any ethnicity, they are someone seeking revenge for a great loss they suffered at an early age. Yeesh.
Though no actors have yet been cast for the three new characters, they are undoubtedly totally sought-after roles that will lend to the intensity of this continuing spooky series. We can’t wait to see who nabs ‘em and what happens to their (doomed?) characters.
