Here’s What Actresses Are Most Likely to Wear on the Red Carpet This Awards Season
Awards season is already in full swing. While you might still be planning your movie viewing to get caught up on all the potential Oscar contenders, it’s possible you’re also still stewing over the year’s biggest Grammy snubs. Either way, something we’re definitely already dreaming of is the red carpet, the true reason for any awards show ever.
If the recent CMAs and Critics Choice Awards are any indication, black will always be a classic look, but there’s a good chance that some bold hues will be front and center. “This season, stylists are requesting — for any actress that they [work with] — a lot of color and a lot of white,” designer Christian Siriano told Popsugar recently.
“Nobody wants black. So, we’ll see.” Though he dressed Crazy Ex Girlfriend‘s Rachel Bloom in a little black number, even it was embellished with luxurious sequins and bold shoulder cutouts.
Kacey Musgraves’ tiered lavender cupcake Siriano dress for the CMAs might be one shade to watch for come early winter and spring, but the designer’s Spring 2017 runway looks suggest brighter reds, oranges and rich jewel tones will dominate the red carpet in 2017.
We’ll have to wait and see whether or not other designers will follow suit. Awards shows, hurry up!
