Here’s How a Fan Tweet About Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o Became an Actual Movie Plot
Back in April, a photo started making the rounds on social media. It was a snap of singer Rihanna and her friend, actress Lupita Nyong’o, at a fashion show. The two stylish celebs looked as if they were straight out of a movie, and one intrepid fan came up with a plot based on the photo alone, and the stars liked it so much, it looks like it’s becoming a reality.

Twitter user @1800SADGAL came up with the idea of Rihanna being a beautiful woman who scams old men for money, and Nyong’o would play her computer-smart friend helping pull off the scams. Twitter went wild with the plot and it was cosigned by hundreds. Both RiRi and Nyong’o said they were in, and now, thanks to Netflix, it looks like we’ll be getting that movie after all.
Fans asked that Oscar-nominated Ava Duvarney direct and Insecure’s Issa Rae write the movie, and both are on board, which basically means this is going to be hilarious, beautiful, and fun. And as for the “rich white man” who RiRi scams? One hunky celeb offered his “talent” for the role, even changing his Twitter handle to prove his dedication.

With Entertainment Weekly reporting that Netflix won the rights to produce the yet-to-be-named film after a very intense bidding war at Cannes, we can only hope that we don’t have to wait too long for this perfection to stream on the online network.
