Here’s What Rihanna Eats According to Her Personal Chef
Rihanna is one of those celebs that seems otherworldly cool enough to squash social stigmas like they’re nothing and be honored by Harvard for her humanitarian work, while also being the girl you could hang out and share a flask with at a stuffy suit-and-tie affair. Oh, and there’s that whole thing where she’s probably the love of Drake’s life. No big.
So we weren’t surprised to learn that her eating habits can be as indecisive as the rest of us. In an interview with Bon Appetit, Ri’s personal chef Debbie Solomon admits that when it comes to meal planning for the singer, she doesn’t even bother.
“[Rihanna is] a moody eater,” Solomon says. “[With previous clients] I would send in a menu on a Sunday or Monday and they would pick for the week, and then I’d be able to shop and prep, but this is nothing like that. We don’t know what we’re gonna want to eat tomorrow, so why even pick today?”
Solomon says that cooking for Rihanna is a day-to-day affair, but to stay prepared she’s always stocked with “every protein that you can think of that [Rihanna] eats,” plus the standard rice, veggies, and pasta. She also carries a few staple spices like curry, Old Bay seasoning and adobo. Rihanna’s mom helped Solomon learn the specifics of the Barbadian and Guyanese dishes that the singer grew up with.
And while Rihanna might be a picky eater sometimes, Solomon is clear about the fact that she’s as laid back as we would imagine. “I liked that she doesn’t give a shit,” she says. “I liked that she can be herself and have others be comfortable enough to be themselves.” We KNEW she was cool.
