Here’s What Selena Gomez and the Weeknd Are Up to Since Their Reported Breakup
On Monday, rumors started to surface that Selena Gomez and the Weekend had reportedly ended their 10-month relationship. While neither has confirmed or denied the news, they’re not exactly in hiding, either — both have been active on social media, and appear to be in good spirits.
Gomez was all smiles in a trio of Instagram story posts that showed her biking around a quiet street with a friend (blaring her new single “Wolves,” natch!) on Monday. The pop superstar and her pal even pulled up to a schoolyard where she spent time meeting some seriously excited fans.
Gomez was spotted spending time with her ex Justin Bieber at a Los Angeles-area breakfast spot this weekend, sending fans into a tailspin debating the pros and cons of a potential Jelena reunion. The two are, as of now, said to be just friends.
The Weeknd, meanwhile, took to Instagram on the day the split rumors broke to post a casual mirror selfie. The caption on the post simply read “Toronto nights.”
Right around the time that the news of the alleged breakup broke, some of the couple’s more detail-oriented fans noticed that the “Starboy” singer had unfollowed several of Gomez’s friends and family members on Instagram, and that it appeared he had “unliked” some of her photos.

Not unlike the rest of us, Abel Tesfaye is also just out here trying to avoid Stranger Things season two spoilers.
It hasn’t been an easy few months for Gomez. In September, she revealed that she had secretly undergone a kidney transplant due to ongoing complications from Lupus, and recently admitted in an interview with her donor, friend Francia Raisa, that there were additional complications following the surgery. She’s set to give her first performance since the procedure at the American Music Awards on November 19 at 8pm/7c on ABC.
