HGTV's 2019 Dream Home Is the Only Place We Want to Be This Winter

For all it's worth, winter *does* have its upsides. Like sipping cocoa by roaring fireplaces, hunkering down under cozy knits, and admiring a slowly formulating snow-scape (all from the comfort of inside, that is). When it came time to furnish HGTV's 2019 Dream Home, Wayfair factored all of these things into their plan. They outfitted a 3,650 square-foot home on the edge of Glacier National Park in Whitefish, Montana with all the essentials necessary to make it an ideal mountainside retreat — especially come the chillier months. Scroll through to see why all three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, one game room, and two outdoor patios of this space make it to the top of our cold-weather bucket list.

The rustic tone is set almost immediately upon walking in the door. Take the dining room, which is outfitted with plush accent chairs in lieu of traditional wooden models, each complete with their own personal warm-toned throws. Couple this with two statement antler chandeliers and any meal here will feel like a welcome retreat after a long day outdoors.

Can you say living room goals? From the dining area, the home opens up into this room with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows (all for prime viewing of the Rocky Mountains and nearby Whitefish Lake). A custom-made leather sectional and a plethora of knit throw pillows give it a loungy vibe, while the southwest rug and wall-mounted moose step up the character.

While you'll see nods to homey touches *everywhere*, the place doesn't skimp on the modern conveniences. The well-appointed kitchen is enhanced with sleek, stainless steel appliances and industrial pendants. It still has that high-end cooking space feel — even when you're miles away from town.

When it came to designing this mountain masterpiece, no detail was overlooked. Take for instance the quirky cowboy hat wall, which makes us want to call dibs on top bunk any day of the week. Or the reclaimed floating wood shelf that serves as a sweet study space. It just goes to show that the smaller features *do* make a difference when it comes to a stunning setup.

If you journey down the hall to the master suite, you'll be greeted with a statement-making distressed wood bedside tables. They're contrasted by a gray upholstered canopy bed to give a softer appeal despite its woodsy setting.

Another highlight? This cheery game room-turned-man cave (depending on the tenant!). To be authentic to the location, it's clad in an old-school ski wall print, worn winter sports equipment, and sheepskin-upholstered seats. The deep blue wall hue adds a bold look that can be appreciated by any mountain man (or woman).

TBH, we have a soft spot for this next area. Between the gingham bedding, buffalo wall hanging, and corner hammock-seat, there are so many things making this space perfect for lots of lazy, pajamas days.

Bookworms will be all over this one. The bedroom is outfitted in a bright warm palette, with a v. appealing rainbow bookshelf to serve as the headboard. The homey vibes continue with a low-hanging pendant and expansive window display ideal for setting the backdrop to get lost in a good read.

Don't let the cold temps stop you from enjoying the exterior! The dream home is complete with an upper deck and lower patio, all adorned in weather-resistant furniture for year-round lounging pleasure. The charming outdoor fireplace is a sweet addition to continue to rustic tradition. All you need are a couple of faux fur throws and you're good to go!
