How to DIY a Last-Minute Thanksgiving Table Runner
Thanksgiving is one of the most important meals of the year, and if you’re like me, you start preparing weeks in advance to ensure that it’s special for your family. This year I decided to make a DIY Thanksgiving Table Runner as a base for a pretty fall themed design. Recreate the whole idea or just pull a few of your favorites for your own holiday table!
Use some craft paint, our free printables below and a roll of butcher paper to create this simple and sweet DIY Thanksgiving Table Runner. Make your runner days in advance so you don’t have to stress about it on the day of.
My style is always a mix and match of nice pieces I’ve collected over time and affordable pieces I’ve had forever. You can use the example above if you’re setting a formal place setting for each guest. The charger, plates, napkin, napkin ring and gorgeous gold silverware are all from Sur La Table. Everything else is less expensive and totally achievable, no matter who you are or what your skill level is!
If you don’t have a big hostess budget, I suggest you make it a goal to buy one nice piece each Thanksgiving (like the pumpkin soup tureen or new stemware). Each year your tableware will grow, and you’ll have the memory of when you added each piece.
Oftentimes the food itself serves as the centerpiece on Thanksgiving, but don’t hesitate to add some mini pumpkins, gourds or even leaves and branches from your yard to add to the texture and color on the table.
