Important PSA: Dessert hummus is a thing. We know, we know. It sounds REALLY weird. But it’s surprisingly delicious *and* good for you. (Win, win!) Chickpeas pack a protein punch and add-ins amp up the sweetness. Ready to indulge (without the guilt)? Read on for our recipe!
Ingredients:
— 2 16-oz cans of chickpeas
— 2 Tablespoons agave
— 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
— 1/2 cup peanut butter
— 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
— 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
— colored sprinkles
— assorted fruits, cookies and crackers, for dipping
Instructions:
1. Combine chickpeas, agave, almond milk, peanut butter and vanilla extract in a food processor. Pulse until combined (should be smooth and creamy).
2. In a large bowl, combine the chickpea mixture and mini chocolate chips. Fold together with a spatula. Top dessert hummus with funfetti sprinkles. Serve with apple slices, strawberries, grapes, pita chips, pretzels and graham crackers. Enjoy!
