IKEA’s Latest Collab Is All Kinds of Minimalist Chic
If the BIG color of IKEA’s most recent collab wasn’t exactly your style (we can’t all have candy-colored homes), their newest announcement won’t disappoint. For Scandinavian-decor lovers that gravitate towards the genre’s classic minimalism, modern appeal and neutral palette, the IKEA Viktigt collection will be right up your alley.
With a vibe completely opposite of many recent IKEA collabs, this collection is cool, sleek and oh-so-Scandinavian. Every versatile item is a collaboration with Swedish designer Ingegerd Råman, known in Europe for perfectly simple glass and ceramics and the exceptional quality of her work.
Clear glass, white, black and cream are the predominant colors in the collection, and many of the pieces boast interesting textures and lines. The muted color palette is a welcome addition if you prefer subtle home decor or already have so much color in your home that your living room is begging for a neutral addition.
Created from materials that are sustainable and reusable (bamboo and rattan feature heavily), this collection is one that should last in your home for ages. And, with all the products coming in under $200, we can easily see ourselves updating our interior style without breaking the bank.
Sadly, as with all IKEA collaborations, the Viktigt collection is limited edition, and when it hits stores later this month (May 23rd, to be precise), we expect it will sell out quickly. So, plan ahead and get what you want before it’s gone.
