The Disney-Pixar legacy continues to grow! The two powerhouse studios have teamed up yet again for what is sure to be one of the funniest animated movies of 2018: The Incredibles 2. And, if the newly released teaser trailer is any indication, it will also be one of THE cutest.
A sequel to the 2004 original of the same name, the flick promises to reunite the entire Incredible family, including Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson), his wife, Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), and their three kids, Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dashiell (Huck Milner), and baby Jack-Jack, the latter of whom is the breakout star of the flick’s 52-second debut trailer.
In the sweet teaser, we see Jack-Jack beginning to discover his superpowers as he shoots green lasers out of his eyes (not bad!), with his proud papa gushing, “You have powers! Yeah, baby!”
Until his hair is set on fire by his giggling mini me, that is. LOL!
Despite the focus on Jack-Jack, however, director Brad Bird revealed at D23 that Elastigirl will actually be the real star of Incredibles 2, while her hubby will take on stay-at-home dad duties. He also gave fans a tiny bit more insight into the plot, as well as the changes they can expect to see, saying, “It’s fundamentally a story about family. The technology has gotten so much better; we can get them close to what we wanted to do in the [original]. It’s like driving a better car.”
The film, which was originally slated for a June 2019 release, will hit theaters a whole year earlier on June 15, 2018.
