Instagram May Have Censored This Woman’s Weight Loss Journey
Instagram is generally the happiest place online. With so many inspiring people to follow (like these 10 perfect examples), there’s no shortage of beauty and honesty on the app. Having lots of IG accounts dedicated to health and well-being, you may be following at least one weight-loss journey besides the celebs, friends, and food accounts that we all know and love. But that doesn’t mean that the app doesn’t have some wonky rules around which pics we can share, as one popular body-journey blogger found out.

Instagram user Morgan Bartley, known to her 116 thousand followers as @morganlosing, learned that a gorgeous before and after pic she posted on her account had been reported by a follower, and IG decided to remove the photo. After learning of the deletion, Morgan reposted with a statement saying, “Somebody took their time to report this photo and have it deleted. I think it sucks that people express negativity toward something with only positive intentions, BUT that’s why we peeps full of love and light get to make a difference. Never let worldly pessimism or judgement prevent you from living your life and celebrating what you’ve done with it.”
“So yeah,” she continued, “I’ve lost over 110 pounds and I think I look pretty freakin bomb in a bathing suit on the beach, and that’s after a lifetime of letting insecurities hold me back from experiencing life. Yes I’ll continue to wear a full face of makeup to the beach and yes, I’ll continue to be DAMN proud of who I’ve worked so hard to become #teamlosing.”
The blogger insists on continuing to share her journey, and hopefully the deletion was just someone being unfair to Morgan and not Instagram allowing their policies to silence a health blogger’s body and weight loss journey.
