Mark Your Calendars: Next Year YOGA DAY Is Happening

These days there’s a “day” for everything — especially in the US. There’s National Pancake Day. Lumpy Rug Day. Hedgehog Day. There’s even literally a day called Cat Herders Day. CAT HERDERS. On an international level, it’s a little harder to get a “day,” which is why we’re pretty jazzed that the United Nations just gave yoga its own day.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed a resolution that suggested yoga could help unite people over important global issues, and the UN General Assembly thought so too. They officially declared June 21 International Yoga Day, so mark those calendars. And start getting ready for it by jumping on that New Year’s Resolution STAT.
