Is Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s Relationship Back On?
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon may have split more than two years ago, but we’re still not over them as a couple… and apparently, they may not be, either: at least not if parties close to them are to be believed!
Despite the fact that Nick just good-naturedly spilled the tea on Mariah Carey’s biggest diva moment and insisted to talk show host Wendy Williams that he’s not hooking up with the singer, he also said there would be nothing wrong with it if he was — and sources for People say there’s hope their romantic connection can be rekindled once more.
After all, the exes have always remained friendly with one another, attending red carpet events in coordinated outfits and spending time with one another together as a family for even the most important of holidays.
Cannon certainly hasn’t been shy about expressing his love for his ex-wife, telling Howard Stern about his misgivings over her short-lived romance with backup dancer Bryan Tanaka (who she split from last month) and saying, “I love Mariah. I’ll never stop loving her.”
Though Carey has been more reserved with her feelings, she did share a recent photo of herself reading the couple’s twins Monroe and Moroccan a bedtime story with Cannon passed out in her bed, giving way to speculation that she too may still have lingering feelings for her ex.

“Mariah and Nick are getting along great,” People’s source revealed. “Nick spends most of his time with Mariah and the kids.”
In fact, the source seems to indicate that perhaps things have changed for them after two years apart. “Mariah is great with Nick around. There seems to be hope that they will get back together permanently,” he or she said.
Still, another insists that, much like Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s rumored reconciliation (which ended in divorce), it’s simply a matter of good co-parenting. It’s a shared love Cannon and Carey can certainly concur on, with Carey dishing to ET in an exclusive interview, “We’re together when it counts. We’re together for the kids. And I think that’s the most important thing.” Cannon also had his say on the matter, chiming in with, “It’s so perfect right now. I’m working on being the best me that I can possible be and from that I’m working on being the best father that I can be and that’s a plate full right there.”
That doesn’t mean the love has faded, though — far from it. Cannon was pretty open with the outlet, saying, “I love her, I adore her, that’s always going to be my dream girl, but I think as mature adults I think we just operate better with the way things are right now.”
Hmmmm… whatever you two crazy kids say! (We’re still gonna ‘ship you like there’s no tomorrow, though.)
