The ‘Jane the Virgin’ Cast Is *Very* Emotional Over Their Final Table Read
After four magical seasons, Jane the Virgin is about to film its series finale. And if the cast’s reactions to the table read for the episode are any indication, it’s going to pack one heck of an emotional punch.
Justin Baldoni, who plays Rafael on the beloved CW show, took to Instagram on Wednesday, April 3, to reflect on what he described as “the end of an era.” He included a photo of himself and costars Gina Rodriguez and Yael Grobglas after the final table read, and it’s clear from their faces that all three were crying when it was taken.

“Five years of cast table reads every week … this was the last one,” the actor captioned his post. “Ends are always hard. We’ve grown up together. Been through massive life moments together. Through joy and pain. These are real friendships. Not ‘show friendships.’ … Our show has given birth to so much beauty in all of our lives. So many tears. But they are tears of gratitude. Man I’m going to miss this family.”
He went on to say that while he’s looking forward to “what’s next,” he plans to live fully in the moment of his final three weeks with Jane the Virgin. “I will savor them. I will enjoy them. I will appreciate them as I appreciate all of you,” he wrote. “For watching us every week and letting us into your homes and your hearts. For binging and sharing and following our journeys. Without you this doesn’t exist. Thank you. For everything.”
He signed the post, “A very sentimental Justin.”
Grobglas, who plays Petra, also hopped onto Instagram to share a pair of pics from the emotional day. One shot is of her holding her script in a stairwell, while the other shows a pile of all the tissues she used to soak up her tears. “Just had our last table read for #janethevirgi,” she wrote. “After crying non stop for 1.5 hours I’m gonna go pass out. Too many feelings.”
Jane the Virgin airs Wednesday at 9pm on The CW.
