Jenny Slate Apparently Spent Christmas With Chris Evans’ Family
Things appear to be going well for Chris Evans and Jenny Slate now that they’re reportedly back together. As first noticed by E! News, the Obvious Child star even turned up at the Avengers: Infinity War star’s family Christmas.
While neither Evans nor Slate posted any evidence of the holiday festivities themselves — in fact, she completely unplugged from social media a few days ago — the Captain America actor’s brother, Scott Evans, shared an Instagram photo of himself posing with the actress on Christmas day.
Chris himself isn’t in any of his sibling’s seasonal pics, but Slate’s presence certainly seems to suggest that he had a merry Christmas indeed.
The on-again couple first started dating after meeting in May 2016 on the set of their movie Gifted. “I remember him saying to me, ‘You’re going to be one of my closest friends,'” she recalled in an interview with New York magazine in March. “I was just like, ‘Man, I f*cking hope this isn’t a lie, because I’m going to be devastated if this guy isn’t my friend.'”
They later became much more than friends, but they broke up this past February. Even after their split, though, Slate had nothing but wonderful things to say about her ex. “What’s the same about us is not just that we’re from Massachusetts, which was such a delight, but Chris is truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, to the point where sometimes I would look at him and it would kind of break my heart,” Slate told New York. “He’s really vulnerable, and he’s really straightforward. He’s like primary colors. He has beautiful, big, strong emotions, and he’s really sure of them,” she said. “It’s just wonderful to be around. His heart is probably golden-colored, if you could paint it.”
It wasn’t long before rumors of a reconciliation cropped up online. Fans zeroed in on several hints that the two were back together — for example, her distinctive laugh popping up in one of his Twitter videos, and her tweet mentioning a supportive “boyfriend.”
Them spending the holidays together is almost like a Christmas gift for anyone who’s been shipping this Hollywood couple.
