Take the Stress Out of Cleaning With Jessica Alba’s Insanely Easy Tips
Life is looking pretty exciting these days for boss, business lady, and mom-to-be Jessica Alba. Beyond overseeing a beauty collection and being pregnant with baby no. 3, she just announced a new plant-based cleaning line under Honest Company. The good-for-you products feature fresh scents and beautiful packaging catered to the lifestyles of conscious mamas. Which leads us to our next question: How does this celeb stay mindful while juggling it all? Keep scrolling to learn more about her tips below, including how she takes the stress out of cleaning.
For the collection, Alba worked with her team to create quality formulas with safe ingredients. “When it comes to maintaining a tidy home, you can feel good about cleaning with the kiddos using effective, plant-based formulas,” she tells Brit + Co. Of course, taking the time to sanitize your space is no easy feat with two little kids (she shares Honor, eight, and Haven, six, with husband Cash Warren) running around, so Alba makes it a family affair. “Cleaning in my household is a family activity that we can all do together. I love getting them involved in household chores because it gives them a sense of responsibility from an early age and I feel good knowing that the products that we are using are safe for my entire family,” she says.
Her collection covers items for every room of the home, including hand soap, multi-surface cleaner, glass spray, dish soap, laundry detergent, and floor pads. Each one boasts a beautiful Cali-inspired image on the label designed by art photographer Jin-Woo Prensena. “Since the product packaging is designed to sit out, you don’t have to worry about storing it or tucking it away,” says Alba.
When it comes to putting the solutions to work, she has her own cleaning strategy. “I like to use bins and organize my products by room. For example, the bathroom bin has Honest Bathroom Cleaner, Honest Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Honest Glass + Window Cleaner, a scrubber sponge, a squeegee, and a microfiber cloth. That way, everything that I need for that one room is easy to find in one location,” she says.
Of course, being a busy mom doesn’t make keeping a routine, or cleaning habits for that matter, easy. Her advice? “Don’t be too hard on yourself. Parenthood is the greatest gift of all, so enjoy every minute of the journey, rather than trying to achieve perfection,” she says.
Add her products to your home by shopping online or in-stores at Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Buy Buy Baby. The items run from $3 to $16 and are available now in four fresh scents.
