How to Get the Look of Jessica Alba’s Daughters’ Rooms

How to Get the Look of Jessica Alba’s Daughters’ Rooms

Those little ones grow up so fast, and before you know it, that uber chic nursery decor just isn’t cutting it anymore. Time is no different for celebs, so when Jessica Alba decided her daughters’ bedrooms needed a more grown-up update, she started with Honor and Haven’s favorite colors (hello, mint green decor) then layered in gold accessories and playful touches like bunny lamps and unicorn fauxidermy to keep the rooms from getting too mature. The end result, which is featured on Domino, is an ageless space that combines Alba’s fabulous sense of style with Haven and Honor’s love of glam. What can we say — like mother, like daughter(s).

This room could definitely pass as an adult bedroom any day of the week. With the mint green walls and mix of black and white patterns, it just screams pastel-chic. The vintage trunks add a nice contrast to the easter egg-ish walls.

Don’t you just want to steal everything from this bedroom? Get the modern-day princess look with a mint duvet cover from Dot and Bo ($139), piles of glittery gold pillows from PB Teen ($39) and a compass pillow from Society 6 ($20). Bring the bling with a faceted gold lamp from Land of Nod ($79) on the side table and add extra lighting with a black + white striped light from PB Teen ($229). Let them show off their artwork on a pretty scalloped pinboard from PB Teen ($229).

Jessica wanted the girls to have spaces with refined, but still playful color palettes. They ditched the “little girl” pink and went with a palette of mint and gold. She told Domino that she wanted pieces that were “fun and whimsical but still sophisticated.”

Just because they’re little doesn’t mean they can’t have a perfectly styled bookcase, especially as they make the transition into more grown-up reading material. Hack an IKEA bookcase gold with a DIY from Style Me Pretty and DIY gold concrete gems from Life’s Little Jems. Give them plenty of cute storage options with black and white striped boxes and fabric storage bins from A Beautiful Mess… for those occasional times you can get them to clean their room.

Florals? Check. Stripes? Check. Perfectly balanced patterns with gilded accents? Double check. This room does pattern play right, and we wouldn’t mind calling this our very own.

Bring a touch of whimsy to the space with a unicorn bust from Brit + Co ($15) and add extra warmth to the room with a faux sheepskin rug from IKEA ($20). Bring in metallics with a gold side table from Urban Outfitters ($139) and mixed metal vases from West Elm ($39+). Black and white never goes out of style, no matter the age, so add some modern vibes with a striped rug from Crate and Barrel ($90) and some DIY black and white tasseled curtains from Love Maegan.
