How Jimmy Fallon Turned a Genius Style Hack into a Collaboration With J.Crew
Oh, Jimmy, let us count the ways that we love thee. Just when we thought we couldn’t be bigger fans for the goofy, soft-hearted late night talk show host, he comes at us with an idea so genius we wouldn’t be surprised to see pitched on Shark Tank. On his show last night he told the audience, “I kept seeing people around the office with their phones sticking out of their blazer pocket and I thought, ‘Someone should make a phone case that looks like a pocket square so that it protects your phone, but it looks very dapper.'” He then made his own prototype and pitched it to J.Crew. Not surprisingly, they not only loved it but decided to actually make it. Introducing the J.Crew Pocket Dial.
Unlike the hot-glued version Jimmy DIYed, J.Crew’s version is comprised of a sleek brown leather case that comes equipped with an interchangeable pocket square attachment. That way you can add it on while you’re at the office and simply slide it off when wearing something like jeans and a t-shirt.
If this just made its way straight to the top of your to-buy list for all the dudes in your life, the Pocket Dial will only set you back $48, with each additional attachment coming in at $15 each. The best part? 100% of the proceeds from the Pocket Dial will benefit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a Kenya-based charity that protects Africa’s elephants from ivory poaching and extinction.
